CNC Mill Operator - Longmont, CO

The CNC Mill Operator will be responsible for loading and unloading parts, running pre‑programmed CNC mill cycles, performing in‑process and final inspections, and completing basic maintenance and deburring tasks to ensure production quality and efficiency

Key Responsibilities

• Part Handling & Loading

  • Safely load and unload raw materials and finished parts into/out of CNC mills according to job instructions .

  • Verify part orientation and fixture setup before running.

• Machine Operation

  • Operate CNC mills using pre‑loaded programs; start, monitor, and stop cycles as required

  • Follow first‑piece inspection procedures and adjust offsets if instructed.

• Quality Control

  • Perform in‑process checks (IPCs) and final inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other gauges

  • Document measurements and quality results in the required system.

  • Report out‑of‑spec parts and escalate issues promptly.

• Maintenance & Housekeeping

  • Complete simple preventive maintenance (e.g., lubrication, tool changes, clearing jams)

  • Perform deburring of parts as needed.

  • Keep work area clean, organized, and safe per company standards.

• Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all OSHA and company safety rules, including lockout/tagout procedures

  • Use PPE as required and report hazards immediately.

Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; vocational training in CNC milling preferred 

• Ability to read blueprints, job orders, and machine setup sheets

• Proficiency with basic measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)

• Good hand‑eye coordination and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately.

Physical Demands

• Frequent lifting/moving of parts (light to moderate weight).

• Standing for extended periods; occasional bending/kneeling.

• Must have good vision and fine motor skills for inspection and deburring
