SUMMARY: Entry level punch press machine operation. Operates a variety of punch press equipment to produce metal parts that meet print specifications. May include basic machine set-up.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to effectively read, write and speak the English language or the ability to communicate effectively in this plant environment.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Punch Press Operator – Class C Con’t
Knowledge of shop mathematics.
ESSENTIAL MENTAL DEMANDS
Requires a high degree of attention, mental alertness and care to prevent injury to self and others when operating machines.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Able to pass the company’s drug testing requirements.
Must conform to all performance and attendance standards deemed applicable by E.J. Ajax and Sons.
Must adhere to all E.J. Ajax and Sons policies and conduct expectations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly during the shift.
Requires a very high degree of precision in work where errors are costly and control, accuracy and delicate touch are required. Regularly uses hands and fingers to manipulate a wide variety of high precision tools.
Regularly bends, twists, stoops, pushes, pulls and reaches with hands and arms. Must be able to stand, or sit as needed for the entire shift.
Very keen vision and hearing is required.
Must have good physical strength and stamina, good hand-eye coordination and good dexterity in hand manipulation and muscle coordination.

Exposed to loud noise most of the shift. Authorized hearing protection is required.
Exposed to a wide range of heat and cold, primarily due to normal fluctuations in indoor production area temperatures, and occasionally due to exposure to outdoor conditions.
Regularly works with cutting oils and solvents.
